Description
The Architectural & Civil Engineering Technology Program prepares individuals to become technicians who are capable of translating the innovative concepts of the professional designer or engineer into functioning systems and structures, using the language of codes, working drawings, specifications and construction.
Focusing on commercial structures and industrial buildings, students develop a familiarity with materials and the basic concepts of structural design, mechanical systems for buildings, cost estimating and surveying. The application of computers to the design field is an integral part of the curriculum.
Graduates of this program typically accept positions with architectural firms, engineering offices, structural or fabrication departments in industrial plants, contractors, land surveyors, municipal or state engineering offices.
