You are not required to provide your Social Security number (SSN). We request it for three reasons.
- First, we use your SSN to see if you have an account in Maine JobLink or if you have previously received workforce services in Maine.
- Second, we use your SSN to support data collection and reporting requirements for federal workforce programs.
- Third, you must provide your SSN if you wish to receive staff-assisted services.
If you provide your SSN, it will be maintained in a secure and confidential manner and will not be released without your express consent.
Unemployment Insurance If you are registering to receive unemployment compensation or cash assistance from other federal or state programs, failing to provide your SSN could affect your eligibility to receive those benefits.
