Description

The Plumber Trainee program is an apprenticable training pathway that is designed to provide students with a basic understanding of the tools and materials used by plumbing professionals to complete residential and light commercial plumbing projects. Students will have opportunities to become proficient in the design, installation, maintenance and repair of standard plumbing systems in accordance with the Maine State Plumbing Code.

Students will be taught by a Licensed Master Plumber with more than 40 years of experience in the trade. Classroom experience will include virtual lab exercises using Virtual Reality programs (utilizing VR headsets and computer-based simulation), text materials, live plumbing demonstrations, and field trips.

The program is 15 weeks long and will be held from 12noon-4pm, Mondays and Wednesdays. The program begins on Monday, September 21 and concludes on Wednesday, January 13, 2027. Please contact Aimee Edmunds, Workforce Advisor/Coordinator for enrollment and funding information.  If we do not have minimum enrollment, we will move the class back until we do!
