Description

Medical Assistant (PTMED3045)

This course prepares students for entry-level medical assistant roles by covering both clinical and administrative skills used in healthcare settings. Students develop foundational knowledge in infection control, medical terminology, patient care, laboratory procedures, and healthcare documentation.

This program is suitable for individuals pursuing entry-level medical assistant roles or transitioning into the healthcare field. No prior experience is required, though basic computer skills are recommended to support student success.

The program includes SIMTICS simulation labs that allow students to practice real-world clinical scenarios and build hands-on skills in a virtual environment. These simulations reinforce proper techniques, safety protocols, and patient interaction skills to support job readiness.

The program prepares students for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification exam.

The program includes the certification exam voucher, which is provided as part of the total program cost and subject to funding approval for eligible participants.

Up to 52 weeks of access, enrollment subject to counselor and admissions approval.
