Description

The Heat Pump and Solar Technology training program is the first of its kind in Oxford County. Students will learn the entry-level skills desired by local employers in the construction industries for residential heat pump and solar panel installation, maintenance and repair.

Students will train on real-life training equipment to simulate working in the field. Tuition is funded through the Clean Energy Grant. Additional supportive funding may also be available to qualified students.

Successful completion of the program means that each graduate will be prepared for entry-level and apprenticeship work for local contractors. Students will receive the NCCER Core Certification, the WorkReady Credential, safety training and training on solar and heat pump simulators. Site visits, guest speakers and job interviews will also be arranged as part of the program.
