Description
This course is designed for English Language Learners, and free for eligible participants.
Students will gain in-depth knowledge of anatomy, venipuncture techniques, and safety protocols, ensuring the highest standards of patient care. Hands-on training will be emphasized, providing students with real-world experience in various phlebotomy methods, equipment handling, and specimen collection.
Included in this course is English language immersion for the workplace and an online learning platform requirement to increase digital literacy skills with a focus on the Phlebotomy. By the end of this course, participants will be well-prepared to take on roles in hospitals, clinics, blood donation centers, and laboratories, with a strong understanding of ethical practices and patient interactions. Employer presentations are provided along with lab and work site visits.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be prepared to sit for the NHA national certification exam.
Objectives:
Understand the anatomy and physiology relevant to phlebotomy. Master the techniques for safe and effective blood collection. Develop skills in patient communication and care. Learn about infection control and safety protocols in the laboratory setting. Sit for the NHA National Certification Exam
