Description
This five course sequence prepares individuals for careers in Early Childhood Education working in child care centers, home-based daycare programs, and public and private Pre-K programs. In addition all courses are part of our Certificate and Associate degree tracks in ECE. Courses are delivered asynchronously in eight week mods and are currently free through the Harold Alfond Center for the Advancement of Maine's Workforce. Many of the courses are required for certification by MDOE and each are 3 credits. Courses include Intro to Early Childhood Education, Professional Development in ECE, Observation and Assessment, Intro to Psychology, and Education of Young Children with Special Needs. Apprenticeship opportunities may be available, as well.
