Description
The scope of this training is to improve job skills in reading and understanding information provided on Blue Prints, understanding the concepts and practices of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, and practicle use of appropriate measurement tools to validate dimensions.
The Blueprint Reading workshop teaches participants to interpret drawings commonly found in manufacturing, beginning with the background of blueprints, looking at the types of lines used on a drawing, and how parts are shown in different views. This workshop teaches the fundamentals of mechanical drawings in easily understandable progressive steps including selection of use of proper measuring tools to take measurements. The practical hands-on approach ensures anyone who has an interest in learning this skill will feel confident interpreting and comprehending blueprints following conclusion of this class.
Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing introduces the participants to the underlying concepts and practices of GD&T and use of appropriate measurement devices. Focus is on understanding dimensions and tolerances on engineering drawings per the ASME Y14.5M standard. The participants study datums; geometric rules, types, and characteristics; and tolerance zones, and use of measurement devices. The practical hands-on approach ensures anyone who has an interest in learning this skill will feel confident interpreting and comprehending blueprints utilizing GD&T following conclusion of this class.
