Description
Portland Adult Education’s Healthcare Office Certificate program prepares you for entry level positions in healthcare, mainly Patient Service Representative
Students will complete 2 terms of courses (~12 weeks each)
Term 1:
- Digital Skills for Learning and the Workplace
- Foundational Math Skills for the Professional Career
- Healthcare Essentials
Term 2:
- Microsoft Office
- Advanced Topics for the Healthcare Office
- Writing, Communications and Workplace Culture
- Career Planning
Participants will have the opportunity to join a paid internship at a local healthcare office (currently MaineHealth offices) for the last 7 weeks of their program. They will be on-boarded and complete EPIC (Electronic Health Records) training at Maine Health.
