Instructional Program (CIP)
This online course meets virtually with a PAE ELL/Workforce Teacher twice a week. The purpose of the course is to prepare students for the Knowledge portion of the CDL license (permit exam). Students will be using the State of Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicle handbook and online resources to prepare for the multiple choice exam.
The course will focus on all of the components needed to pass the Class A and Class B permit exam as well as School Bus and Passenger Endorsements.
The fees for the permit test and up to two endorsements is included in the tuition fee*.
- Remote delivery, focusing on preparation for the CDL permit exam, Class A and B
- Endorsements: Passenger, School Bus Operator, Air Brakes
- 10 weeks, 5 hours/week
- Individualized support from PAE instructor
- Job search support and connection to employers
- Referral to driver instruction, when possible
*Students must successfully complete the course and pass the final exam to be eligible for their test fee to be covered.
