Description
This phlebotomy certification course is designed to meet the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification requirements for a phlebotomy technician. Students must have a high school diploma or equivalent and complete a two-part program
consisting of 40 clock hours of classroom training, including anatomy and physiology of the circulatory system, specimen collection, processing and handling, and laboratory operations, AND 100 clock hours of clinical training and orientation in a CLIA certified laboratory with a minimum performance of 100 successful unaided blood collections including venipunctures and skin punctures.
