Alcohol/Drug Abuse Counseling. An instructional program that prepares individuals to counsel drug users, addicts, family members, and associates in a wide variety of settings, using various preventive strategies and treatment regimes. Includes instruction in outreach; patient education; therapeutic intervention methods; diagnostic procedures; addiction symptomology; record-keeping; liaison with community health, social services, law enforcement, and legal services; and applicable regulations.
