Description
STUDENTS MAY TEST FOR NATIONAL INDUSTRY CERTIFICATION. The program places emphasis on the safe practice of collecting adequate and correct blood specimens by capillary or venipuncture on adults, children, and neonates. The second part of the program includes the correct and accurate obtaining of an EKG tracing and cardiac monitoring. The program consists of classroom, simulated laboratory settings, and clinical externships. The clinical externship is a minimum of 120 hours in which the students must demonstrate successful specimen collection with venipunctures, skin punctures, EKGs.
