Job Description
Job Title: Weaver
Job Objective: Operate loom efficiently and effectively. Ensure good quality product. Fix and maintain the loom.
Essential Job Functions:
- Visually inspects production runs for which colors are running primary and accent and assures appropriate bobbin colors are on creel.
- Visually inspects inventory of yarns, jute, and cotton to ensure appropriate stock levels.
- Replaces low bobbins as needed.
- Uses special spindles for crushed or bad bobbins. Separates bobbins to be rewound.
- Threads yarn along proper path to loom.
- Visually inspects for crossed yarn on path to loom.
- Loads proper weights on yarn.
- Repairs raw goods failures (i.e. jute, cotton etc…).
- Loads jute tables when necessary.
- Sweeps and cleans creel and loom area.
- Communicates with creel manager and shipping department regarding raw goods needs.
Equipment Needed to Perform Job:
- Jute bobbins (full) 42lbs.
- Cotton bobbin (full) 10lbs.
- Yarn bobbin (full) 9lbs.
- Jute bobbin: 10” tall.
- Cotton bobbin: 10 ¾” tall, 9 ½” bottom diameter.
- Scissors and utility knife.
- Pneumatic blower.
