Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Apprentice Diesel Technician to join our maintenance team. This entry-level position is designed for individuals who are interested in developing a career in diesel and fleet maintenance. No prior experience is required. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced technicians, receiving hands-on training in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a desire to learn a skilled trade.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist experienced technicians with preventative maintenance inspections and repairs.
- Learn to diagnose and repair diesel engines, brake systems, electrical systems, suspension components, and other vehicle systems.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and tire inspections.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Properly use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in training programs and mentorship opportunities to develop technical skills.
- Support fleet uptime and operational reliability through quality workmanship.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work in a shop environment.
- Strong attendance and reliability.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in diesel equipment.
