Job Description

Position Summary

Future Homes USA, Inc. is seeking an experienced, licensed Master Plumber to lead and perform plumbing work in our manufactured-home production facility. This position is responsible for ensuring that all plumbing systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with approved building plans, HUD Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards, and applicable state and local requirements.

The Master Plumber will work closely with production management, electricians, carpenters, inspectors, and other trades to keep homes moving efficiently through the manufacturing process. This role also provides technical oversight, quality control, and guidance to plumbing team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and oversee complete plumbing systems in single-wide and double-wide manufactured homes.
  • Install water-supply lines, drain and waste lines, venting systems, fixtures, water heaters, shutoff valves, and related components.
  • Review plumbing plans, specifications, and production drawings before installation.
  • Ensure all plumbing work complies with approved plans, HUD requirements, applicable plumbing codes, and company quality standards.
  • Supervise and provide technical direction to journeyman plumbers, trainees, apprentices, and production employees performing plumbing-related work.
  • Inspect plumbing installations throughout the production process and correct deficiencies before final inspection.
  • Conduct pressure, leak, drainage, and operational testing on completed plumbing systems.
  • Coordinate plumbing work with electrical, framing, cabinetry, HVAC, flooring, and finish departments.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, testing documentation, material records, and corrective-action reports.
  • Assist with material planning, inventory control, and ordering plumbing supplies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve installation methods, reduce material waste, and increase production efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing issues discovered during production or final quality-control inspections.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies and applicable OSHA requirements.
  • Participate in inspections and communicate with third-party inspectors, regulatory representatives, and production management as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Current and valid Maine Master Plumber license.
  • Thorough knowledge of residential plumbing systems, plumbing codes, and accepted installation practices.
  • Experience installing water, drainage, waste, venting, fixture, and water-heating systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plumbing plans, specifications, and technical drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate plumbing personnel.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Good communication, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufactured housing, modular construction, residential construction, or production-based building.
  • Familiarity with HUD Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards.
  • Experience working with third-party inspectors and quality-control programs.
  • Previous supervisory or team-lead experience.
  • OSHA safety training or related workplace-safety certification.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and work in confined areas for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry plumbing materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, ladders, and production equipment.
  • Ability to work safely around active construction and manufacturing operations.
