Microbiologist – Kickstart Your Career in Food Science

Pay Rate: $29/hr

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Assignment Length: Long-Term Temporary

Are you a detail-oriented science professional ready to make an impact? Our client is hiring a Microbiologist for an exciting opportunity in Rockland, Maine. This position offers $29/hr and is long-term temporary , making it a great way to get your foot in the door with a well-established national company.

This is a hands-on quality and food safety role where you’ll apply your scientific background in a real-world manufacturing setting – perfect for candidates who enjoy problem-solving and independent thinking.

Typical daily duties:

+ Monitor and enforce food safety and quality standards (GMP, HACCP, FSMA, SQF/BRC)

+ Operate and monitor extraction line quality control processes

+ Maintain documentation and records for quality control processes

+ Perform routine quality checks on raw materials and in-process production

+ Conduct sensory evaluations and laboratory testing as needed

What we’re looking for:

+ Strong attention to detail and ability to think independently

+ Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field (preferred)

+ 2+ years of experience in food manufacturing quality assurance or quality control

+ Backgrounds in environmental, marine biology, or microbiology are highly encouraged
