Summary You will service as a PORDUCTION CONTROLLER (SHIPS) in the Business Operations Division; Business and Strategic Planning Office, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery ME. Responsibilities You will be the liaison between the Shipyard and its customers by directing and managing efforts during on-yard and off-yard submarine availabilities. You will be responsible for monitoring and keeping informed of progress of the work, monitoring the status of funds and anticipating and resolving problem areas. You will execute the Financial Control processes of the Advanced Industrial Management Program. You will screen initial requests for performance of work in the light of workload capacity, capability, and general policy. You will determine the status and estimate the completion date of work in progress and provide periodic reports of work status to the customer. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications FOR GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience coordinating production control and shop operations Experience in the execution of production planning processes, procedures and practices as they relate to the overhaul and repair of nuclear submarines. Experience with financial management/ funds administration requirements in relation to financial control of assigned projects including preparing estimates, expenditures, and providing contract administration. Experience gathering, analyzing, and evaluating information from public and private industrial work practices to draw conclusions and recommend appropriate actions. Experience managing and scheduling, justifying, and negotiating projects. Experience communicating both orally and in writing to persuade, inform or provide guidance. FOR GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
