Culinary Support Chef – Join a respected team in a dynamic café environment
Pay Rate: $23/hr
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm
Assignment Length: Long-term temp
We’re hiring a Culinary Support Chef for our client IDEXX in Westbrook-this is an opportunity to join a team that values excellence, teamwork, and innovation in food service. This position pays $23/hr and is a long-term temporary assignment.
This is a hands-on culinary role where you’ll contribute across kitchen operations-from preparation to plating-while supporting a fast-paced, professional café environment with a strong focus on quality and food safety. Apply today!
Typical daily duties:
- Prepare and serve food as directed by the head or executive chef
- Perform line cooking, food prep, menu support, and plating
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and proper food safety standards
- Monitor ingredient quality and ensure proper food handling procedures
- Support kitchen operations by stepping into different roles as needed
- Clean and maintain café equipment and machinery
- Cross train across kitchen stations, including register/cashier
What we’re looking for:
- ServSafe certification preferred and strong knowledge of food safety standards
- Proven knife skills, food preparation experience, and kitchen organization
- Strong team player with excellent customer service skills
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
