Dayton Consolidated School is a highly rated, public school located in DAYTON, ME. It has 118 students in grades PK, K-5 with a student-teacher ratio of 10 to 1.

Job responsbilities may include:

Provide direct academic and social emotional support to students in individual, small-group, and classroom settings.

+ Reinforce instructional concepts and learning objectives in literacy, mathematics, and other content areas.

+ Assist students in completing assignments, organizing materials, and developing effective study and learning strategies.

+ Adapt instructional materials and activities to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.

+ Collaborate and communicate with staff on the monitoring and documenting of student progress, academic performance, and behavioral growth.

+ Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success.

+ Build positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage confidence, resilience, and self-advocacy skills.

+ Provide social and emotional support by helping students develop self-regulation, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and interpersonal skills.

+ Assist students in managing emotions, navigating peer relationships, and responding appropriately to social situations.

+ Support positive behavior interventions and reinforce classroom expectations and school-wide behavioral goals.

+ Collaborate with teachers, counselors, special educators, administrators, and families to support students’ academic and social/emotional development.

+ Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, field trips, and other school-related functions as assigned.

+ Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with school policies and applicable regulations.

+ Participate in professional development opportunities and team meetings to enhance student support practices.

+ Perform other duties as assigned to support the educational, behavioral, and emotional needs of students.

+ Other job-related duties as assigned by the Building Leader or designee.

Certification/License:

Certification as an Education Technician from the Maine Department of Education

Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education

Education:

Appropriate for Ed Technician Certification Level

Experience:

Experience working with students
