Presque Isle, ME – Temp-to-Hire Opportunity

Schedule: Full-Time/Days; 6:00 AM – 2:45 PM, Wednesday – Sunday
Pay: $15.10 - $17.00/hr., depending on experience.

Job Description:


Immediate opening for a Front Desk Receptionist to work for a locally-managed hospitality business in Presque Isle. This is an excellent opportunity for a friendly, dependable individual who enjoys working with the public and creating positive guest experiences. Prior hospitality experience helpful, but not required for candidates with strong customer service and communication skills.

The Front Desk Receptionist will serve as one of the first points of contact for guests, providing professional and courteous service throughout the check-in and check-out process. Responsibilities include managing reservations, answering guest questions, processing payments, coordinating with housekeeping and other departments, and helping ensure smooth front desk operations. The ideal candidate will be organized, personable, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:  

 

  • Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Handle guest check-in and check-out procedures accurately and efficiently.
  • Answer phones and respond to guest questions, requests, and concerns promptly.
  • Manage room reservations by phone, email, and in-person requests.
  • Process payments, verify billing information, and maintain accurate transaction records.
  • Coordinate room assignments and communicate special requests with housekeeping and hotel staff.
  • Provide guests with information about hotel amenities, local attractions, and nearby services.
  • Maintain accurate guest records using the property management system.
  • Assist with resolving guest concerns and escalate issues to management when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk area.
  • Complete shift reports, documentation, and front desk handoff procedures.
  • Support additional front office and administrative duties as requested.


Job Requirements:  

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn hotel management software.
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or front desk operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of local attractions and surrounding communities a plus.
