About Camden Hills Regional High School

Camden Hills Regional High School, a state-of-the-art energy efficient facility that includes a wind turbine and solar panels, serves 710 students in grades 9 – 12 from primarily six surrounding towns. The school offers an incredibly expansive array of educational experiences for students and is dedicated to hiring and retaining a high-quality, diverse staff.

Position Summary

We are looking for a Social Worker to provide mental health support for students in Grades 9-12.  The role involves direct services to students (individual and group), consultation to teachers and administrators, and assisting students and their families in accessing services within the school or community that will positively impact education and personal well-being. Candidates must be flexible, collaborative, and communicative, and must demonstrate an ability to establish positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides school social work services (such as case management, assessment, and counseling services) to individual students and/or groups to address challenges or situations that interfere with their academic, personal and social progress.
• Completes clinical notes as appropriate.
• Works closely with the clinical team (school counselor, school psychologist, and administrators) to develop seamless support services for students.
• Assists in monitoring and following up on instances of truancy and/or non-attendance.
• Does home visits as warranted to connect with families.
• Consults with administration, teachers and other staff regarding crises as they occur.

Qualifications/Skills

• Ability to engage with students, home, school, colleagues, and the community to support student learning and wellbeing.
• Adapt to student needs.
• Communicate effectively.

Requirements

• Experience in a public school setting desired
• Maine LMSW, LCSW, or equivalent required
• Maine Department of Education CHRC Approval

Pay and Benefits

• Salary depends on experience; Teacher Scale starts at $52,686 (step B - 0)
• Health Insurance (including Vision)
