Terrapin Landscapes Inc. Corporate office located in Arundel, ME.
Six (6) temporary, full-time landscape laborer positions available. Dates of need 07/21/2026 - 11/30/2026. Positions available in the following location: 1544 Portland Road, US Route 1, Arundel, ME 04046 and multiple worksites within the counties of Cumberland and York, Maine. Employer will offer daily transportation to and from the worksite from the Company’s headquarters at no cost to the worker.
Duties: Landscape or maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Duties include any combination of the following: sod laying, mowing lawns, trimming of shrubs, planting trees, shrubs and flowers, watering, fertilizing, weeding of beds, digging, raking/blowing leaves, and installation of mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall units. The use of tractors or heavy equipment is not required to perform the job duties.
Requirements: No minimum education or experience required. Must be able to lift 50lbs. and to use small hand tools and train to use ride on lawn mowers. Employer-paid background and drug testing required for foreign and domestic workers prior to commencing work and post-hire upon suspicion of use and post-accident. Post-hire background checks may be required of foreign and domestic workers based on contract requirements. Driving is not a requirement of all workers in the position. Workers who drive a company vehicle will drive company field truck (Gross Vehicle Weight being less than 26,001 pounds) to/from specified destinations within area of intended employment, and employer will require that a successful applicant possess or be able to obtain a valid U.S. driver’s license, or foreign equivalent.
Workdays and Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm (hours & start/end times may vary). Employer will offer at least (no less than) 40 hours per week. Pay: $22.33/hr, OT varies at $33.50/hr. Additional benefits offered: optional and partially sponsored health and dental insurance, short term disability, simple IRA (subject to plan requirements and eligibility), paid holidays, PTO, direct deposit, and company car (if in possession of valid driver’s license). Optional employee housing available at a rate of $175-$200 per week to be deducted from paycheck if housing is elected. On the job training provided. Workers paid weekly. Single workweek used to compute wages due. Deductions: Employer will make all deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by law and optional housing, if applicable. Retirement, health and dental insurance premiums may be deducted from paycheck if employee participates in the plan(s).
Inbound/Outbound transportation & subsistence: If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence provided at a rate of at least $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts.
Visa & related expenses: Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees) by check separate from payroll. Tools: Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. ¾ Guarantee: Employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least 3/4 of the workdays in each 12-week period of total employment period.
