Schedule: Part-Time/Days; hours available from 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM, Monday-Friday
Pay Rate: $17.00 – $20.00/hr.
Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to serve as a part-time Custodian for a public facility in Fort Kent. This position offers a consistent daytime schedule with some flexibility, averaging approximately 12–15 hours per week. Prior experience is helpful, but not required.
The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-kept environment throughout the facility. Duties include routine cleaning, restocking supplies, light maintenance, and supporting general building security and groundskeeping tasks. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working independently.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the facility by wiping surfaces, removing trash, and sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and common areas.
- Clean and restock restrooms.
- Wash interior windows, doors, walls, and woodwork.
- Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and recyclables to designated disposal areas.
- Perform routine groundskeeping duties, including shoveling, plowing driveways, salting walkways and mowing lawns.
- Complete minor maintenance tasks or report advanced repair needs to management..
- Assist with building security by locking doors and activating security systems as required.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Valid Maine driver’s license and good driving record.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Prior custodial or maintenance experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Successful completion of a background check required.
