Accounting Clerk
Caribou, ME – Temporary Opportunity
Schedule: Part-Time/Days; 20-25 hours/week available from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
Pay Rate: $23.00 – $25.00/hr., depending on experience.
Job Description:
Now hiring a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support the financial operations of a local business in Caribou. This is a temporary, part-time opportunity with the potential to become a long-term position for the right candidate.
The Accounting Clerk will assist with a variety of financial and administrative tasks, helping to ensure accurate recordkeeping and smooth day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will be dependable, organized, and able to accurately organize and review financial data. Prior experience is preferred, but candidates with relevant education or transferable skills are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Prepare and issue invoices to customers.
- Reconcile financial records, including bank statements and internal accounts.
- Assist with payroll processing and related documentation as needed.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and files.
- Enter data into accounting software and verify accuracy of information.
- Assist with preparation of financial reports and summaries.
- Communicate with vendors and customers regarding billing inquiries.
- Perform general administrative tasks as needed.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in accounting, business, or a related field preferred.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative support.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
