Job Description
Position Summary:
The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for the assembly, sub-assembly, and testing of BioSafety Cabinets, ensuring all products meet quality and safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Read and interpret blueprints, shop orders, and work instructions

Perform Soap Bubble and Filter Leak tests as required
-
Conduct final inspection for overall product appearance (panel alignment, paint finish, cleanliness)

Take airflow readings and qualify each cabinet for proper operation and performance
-
Record data and generate electronic Unit Test Reports for tested cabinets
-
Ensure the final quality of products — focusing on appearance, structural integrity, and parts interchangeability

Use basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide)

Operate hand and power tools, pallet jacks, hand trucks, stud welders, and pneumatic tools
-
Work efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing line environment

Meet takt time and production targets

Cross-train in various areas within the Assembly department

Focus on quality workmanship to ensure high customer satisfaction
-
Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to identify and eliminate waste (scrap/rework, excess motion, waiting time, inventory, etc.)

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization
-
Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors
