Job Description
KidsPeace in Ellsworth, Maine, is seeking a Nursing Transportation Aide to safely transport children in our care to medical appointments and provide professional support to our nursing and medical teams. This role plays a key part in ensuring the safety, health, and well-being of every child we serve.
Key Responsibilities+ Safely transport children to and from medical appointments on time.
+ Communicate medical updates to providers and nursing staff.
+ Supervise children during transport and while in the community, ensuring their safety and care.
+ Provide minor first aid as needed.
+ Schedule appointments, complete required documentation, and maintain accurate medical records.
+ Order and restock medical supplies; assist with medication packing as needed.
+ Communicate clearly and sensitively with children according to their clinical and emotional needs.
+ Perform crisis intervention and restraints when necessary, using approved KidsPeace methods.
+ Collect and input medical data and prepare reports as requested.
+ Provide training and support to fellow employees, and assist remote sites as needed.
Qualifications+ Associate’s Degree in mental health or related field preferred.
+ Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
+ Must obtain and maintain Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) certification (training provided).
+ Strong communication, organizational, and crisis intervention skills.
+ Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
