Assistant CarpenterAroostook County, ME – Temp-to-Hire Opportunity
Schedule: Full-Time/Days; Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $18.00 – $22.00/hour, depending on experience
Job Description:
Now hiring Assistant Carpenters to support a local general contractor. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on work and are interested in building a career in the construction trades. Candidates of all skill levels are encouraged to apply - prior experience is valued, but training will be provided for those that are eager to learn.
This role offers the chance to gain valuable, on-the-job experience working alongside skilled professionals on a variety of residential and light commercial projects. Employees will assist with painting, basic carpentry, general repair work, and cleanup at job sites throughout Caribou, Presque Isle, and surrounding areas. Ideal candidate will be dependable, motivated, and comfortable performing physically demanding work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with painting, basic carpentry, and general home improvement projects.
- Support skilled tradespeople with repairs, installations, and job site tasks.
- Perform interior and exterior work on residential and light commercial projects.
- Load, unload, and organize tools and materials as needed.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
- Follow direction from supervisors and team leads to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain professionalism; work respectfully in clients’ homes and around customers.
- Adhere to all workplace safety guidelines and procedures.
- Preform other relevant duties as required.
Job Requirements:
- Reliable transportation to travel to various job sites.
- Ability to move/lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Comfortable working at heights or on ladders.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Previous construction, painting, or carpentry experience is a plus, but not required.
- Successful completion of a background check required after offer of employment.
