Caribou, ME – Temp-to-Hire Opportunity

Schedule: Part-Time/Days; 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
Payrate: $17.00 - $20.00/hr. 

Job Description:

We are seeking a reliable individual to serve as a part-time Custodian for a public facility in Caribou. This position offers a great afternoon schedule. Prior experience is helpful but not required. 

The Custodian will clean offices, hallways, and restrooms; restock supplies; remove trash and recyclables; and perform minor building maintenance and repairs. This employee will also assist with building security and groundskeeping duties. Ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and possess working knowledge of how to use common cleaning materials efficiently and safely. 

Responsibilities:
 

• Keep the facility clean and presentable by wiping down surfaces, removing trash, and sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
• Wash interior windows, doors, woodwork, and walls as needed.
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and displays.
• Clean and restock restrooms.
• Empty wastebaskets and move trash and recyclables to designated areas for removal.
• Perform routine groundskeeping, such as shoveling/salting walkways or mowing lawns.
• Perform minor repairs as needed or notify management of any building damage requiring specialized maintenance.
• Help keep the facility secure by locking doors and activating security systems as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
 

• Valid Maine driver’s license and good driving record.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Prior custodial or maintenance experience preferred but not required.
• Successful completion of a background check required.
