Overview
Central Maine Healthcare is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving 400,000 people living in central, western and Midcoastal Maine. CMH’s hospital facilities include Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Bridgton Hospital and Rumford Hospital. CMH also supports Central Maine Medical Group, a primary and specialty care practice organization. Other system services include the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute, a regional trauma program, LifeFlight of Maine’s southern Maine base, the Central Maine Comprehensive Cancer Center and other high-quality clinical services.Responsibilities
Position Summary: This position reports to the Director of Pharmacy and or a Registered Pharmacist. This person should have a pharmacy technician background, as well as previous pharmacy or hospital experience. The preference is that the person is Nationally Certified and holds a Maine state license or the ability to obtain that specific state license. Pharmacy technicians assist and support licensed pharmacists in providing health care and medications to patients. Pharmacy technicians must have a broad knowledge of pharmacy practice, and be skilled in the techniques required to order, stock, package, and compound and otherwise prepare medications. Education and Experience:+ High school degree or equivalent
+ Current technician certification and required licensing
+ Previous experience as a hospital pharmacy technician preferred
+ ACPE or ASHP accredited course in compounding sterile preparations preferred
+ Customer service skills
+ Training and proficiency in age specific therapies for hospital patients.
