Job Description

Server/Host: 10 openings at Blaze Restaurant Group, LLC, at restaurants in Bar Harbor (04609), Blue Hill (04614), Bangor (04401) and Orono (04473); Phone: (207) 944-8723, duties include taking food and beverage orders, answering questions about the menu, carrying trays of food and drinks from the kitchen to the dining room, serving customers, preparing checks and taking payments from customers, removing dirty dishes and cleaning tables, setting up dining areas, refilling condiments and stocking service areas, with other related duties; providing hosting-related services as needed, including greeting/seating guests, providing menus, assigning guests to appropriate tables based on guest needs and server rotations, responding to guest comments/complaints/requests, maintaining contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff and guests to ensure proper handling of dining details, ensuring cleanliness and proper setup of dining and serving areas, handling phone calls, phone orders and reservations, and processing payments. 35+ hours per week, Monday through Sunday (1-2 days off, rotating), shifts start as early as 9AM and end as late as 11:30PM (multiple shifts available, varies), at least $24.38 per hour plus tips, overtime possible of at least $36.57 per hour plus tips; temporary, full-time position (April 1, 2026, to November 5, 2026). No minimum education or experience required; on-the-job training provided; performance-based bonus and/or raise possible. Optional employer-provided housing available in Bar Harbor and Blue Hill at $150-$175/week, not deducted from bi-weekly pay but handled separately. Paid bi-weekly using a single workweek as the standard for computing wages due. Standard payroll deductions as required by law.

 

Transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, if worker completes half the employment period; the amount for daily subsistence will be at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts; return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. Reimbursement within one week after the start of work of visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. The employer will provide workers, at no charge, with all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.
