About the Role:John F. Murphy Homes is seeking a compassionate and organized Team Leader to provide leadership and direct support within one of our residential programs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position combines hands-on caregiving with staff supervision and administrative responsibilities to ensure a safe, supportive, and engaging home environment.

What You’ll Do:

+ Provide direct care and daily support to individuals, promoting independence, dignity, and choice.

+ Lead and mentor residential staff, ensuring quality services and teamwork.

+ Oversee household operations including scheduling, documentation, budgeting, and compliance.

+ Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment.

+ Coordinate care with medical and behavioral professionals as needed.

+ Ensure staff training and adherence to agency and state regulations.

+ Participate in on-call support and fill in for staff when necessary.

What We’re Looking For:

+ Minimum 2 years of direct care experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.

+ Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

+ Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills (Microsoft Office proficiency).

+ Valid Maine driver’s license with good driving record and reliable vehicle.

+ Ability to complete required agency training (First Aid, CPR, Gentle Teaching, etc.).

Qualifications

Education

Required

+ General Educational Development or better

+ High School Diploma or better

Experience

Required

+ Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills (Microsoft Office proficiency)

+ 2 years: Direct care experience working with people with disabilities

Preferred

+ Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred
