The U.S. EPA Refrigerant Certification course at KVCC is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge and understanding of the safety and regulations designed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the handling of refrigerant chemicals.

Course Description
RF1 010 EPA Refrigerant Certification Exam Preparation Course
This course will prepare professionals for the EPA 608 certification exam. Upon conclusion of the course, students will sit for their EPA 608 certification. With a passing grade of 70% or higher in each of the four sections, the student will be universally certified under the EPA 608 regulations for refrigerant handling. The EPA Refrigerant Certification Exam sections include:
• Core – A Technician must pass the Core section of the exam in order to earn any other certification.
• Type I – Servicing small appliances
• Type II – Servicing high pressure systems/appliances
• Type III – Servicing low pressure systems/appliances

With these credentials you will be able to purchase, transport, and service equipment containing refrigerants in the State of Maine.

To receive a full refund, a student must cancel/drop their enrollment/registration more than 3 business days before the start of the course. Within 3 business days before the course starts, a partial refund of 50% of the course fee will be refunded. After the start of the course, no refund will be given.
