Description

This workforce training program moves students from the classroom to employment in twelve weeks.

Students are co-enrolled in the 60-hour WorkReady program along with the 125-hour construction skills program that includes OSHA-10 Construction, Forklift certification, scissor lift certification, and CPR. Employer presentations are provided along with work site visits. The local tech center ( LRTC) is part of the hands on skill building coursework presenting power tools, safety, and building skills.  Included in this course is English language immersion for the workplace and an online learning platform requirement to increase digital literacy skills with a focus on the Trades. Students may be eligible to participate in eight weeks of work experience with local employers. During this time, students are able to share questions from the work experience, for review and additional teaching, with the construction skills instructor.
