Description
The Education program at WCCC provides a comprehensive introduction to the field of education, especially for those considering teaching as a future career. The curriculum, which includes a strong background in liberal studies like English, mathematics, speech, and the social sciences, provides students with the opportunity to gain extensive knowledge about learning styles, instructional techniques, developmentally appropriate practice, behavior management, special education, curriculum development, instructional technology, and a variety of other pertinent educational topics. An internship is integral to the program and may be completed at the student’s place of employment if appropriate. Students with extensive working experience in schools may be granted up to 6 credits in lieu of the internship.
