Description
The Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician/Community (MHRT/C) certificate meets the MaineCare “other qualified mental health professional” requirement for providing specific services to adults. Those services include community integration, intensive case management, assertive community treatment, skills development, day support services and family psycho‐education as outlined in Chapter II, Sections 17 and 65 of the MaineCare Benefits Manual. This 7-course sequence is approved as required coursework to qualify for the MHRT/C. Courses include Interviewing and Counseling, Case Management, Community Mental Health, Ethics and Policy in Human Services, Trauma and Recovery, Diverse Care in Human Services, and Vocational Aspects of Disability. Competencies include behavioral, psychological, and rehabilitation integration; community integration and inclusion; ethics and professional conduct; trauma and resiliency; policy knowledge; cultural competency; vocational supports; mind-body connectiions.
