Description
The University of Maine at Augusta’s dental assisting program is the only accredited dental assisting program in Maine, currently offered at the Bangor Campus and Lewiston Center. Attending an accredited dental assisting program allows graduates to sit for the Dental Assisting National Board Certified Dental Assisting (CDA*) exam immediately upon successful completion of the program.
The program can be completed in as quickly as two semesters.
All courses are approved for college credit and qualify for Federal Financial Aid.
Students take some courses online in real-time via Zoom and take their pre-clinicals onsite in the UMA Dental Clinic.
Clinicals/Internships are completed onsite at a dental office in the student’s local community.
After successfully completing this certificate program, students can continue on to earn their Associate Degree in Dental Assisting by only taking a few more courses.
