Course Description & Overview
During this course you will learn the role of the Phlebotomist in the laboratory setting. You will learn to care for patients using safe technique and learn to obtain accurate laboratory specimens.
This is a course that will run 3 weeks and include Lab and Clinical experiences
Course Outcomes
At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Utilize infection control protocols per policy
2. Identify patients and label specimens per policy
3. Perform safe and correct Venipuncture Procedures
4. Obtain specimens for Urinalysis and other body fluids
5. Understand and know specific Lab values for common labs
6. Be able to utilize Lab Help
