Instructional Program (CIP)
Description
CDL training will provide the necessary skills and hours for trainees to
sit for a Class A Commercial Driver’s License. Students will learn the
basics of operating a truck, transmission, trip checks, log books and
safety. Classroom time for Class A is mandated at 78 hours. Lab time is
25.5 hours. Driving time is 44 hours minimum, road or range. Students
can elect to add endorsements to their license. Length of course is
advertised as eight (8) weeks but will run for 10 weeks to accommodate
for scheduling and repeat testing. Commercial Driver’s License is
regulated by the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
