Description
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course is designed to prepare students to work as an EMT and initiate life-saving emergency medical care. Students will be trained in patient assessment, airway management, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, automated external defibrillation, basic medication administration, wound dressing, hemorrhage control, splinting, spinal immobilization, childbirth, lifting, moving, and extricating patients. This course includes clinical experience in a hospital emergency department and/or ambulance service. Student who successfully complete this course are eligible to sit for the State of Maine EMT and National Registry of EMT licensure exams.
