Description
This course utilizes the Evaluation & Management Auditing and Abstracting Book by Lynn Schoeler,CPC,COC,CPC-I. The instructor Lynn Schoeler is a Certified Professional Coder Instructor licensed by the AAPC. During this course the student will learn to determine the level of service for a physician face to face encounter in either the outpatient office setting or inpatient environment.
The student will be able to read a medical record and determine what services were provided to the patient. The student will be able to determine the level of History for the patient encounter as well as determine the extent of the Physical Examination performed. The student will also be able to determine the amount of Medical Decision Making done by the provider to ultimately level the service based on the Medical Decision Making Process. Students will be able to apply the Medicare Coding Guidelines when selecting the appropriate service code.
