Description

Our Certified Medical Administrative Assistant and Office Skills (MAA) program provides expert training for people seeking work in a medical office – or a position as an office assistant in any industry. Participants study and train to take a nationally recognized Certified Medical Administrative Assistant exam.

The program incorporates face-to-face instruction and a 2- week simulated, model office on-line; participants will learn, practice, and apply real skills for medical offices. MAA topics include, but are not limited to: general medical office practices, scheduling, customer service and office communications, HIPAA, insurance forms, general billing and coding, overview of medical law and ethics, and career development.

Office Technology, Integrated Workplace Math, and Work Readiness are all key classes in our training program.

Site visits to several local health care facilities that regularly hire MAAs are included in the program.

Job shadows at local offices are also integrated into the schedule.

Certificate Opportunities include: Certified Medical Administrative Assistant, CPR & First Aid, Northstar Digital Literacy Certificates, Work Readiness.

Supplemental and college pre-requisite classes offered by RSU 24 Adult Education: Medical Terminology (an extension of what is embedded in the MAA program), Anatomy and Physiology, Algebra 1, Biology with Lab, Chemistry with Lab.
