Description
Blood Bank Technology/Technician. An instructional program that prepares individuals to perform classification, analysis, and related tests on banked blood under the supervision of a pathologist, physician, or laboratory director. Includes instruction in laboratory hematology; laboratory and blood bank procedures; blood donor selection; blood collection, classification, storage, and processing procedures; topological and compatibility tests; blood bank inventory and delivery procedures; record-keeping; and personnel and volunteer supervision.
