Description
This course is based on established National Metalworking Skills Standards (NIMS).Trainees will have the opportunity to earn national credentials in several areas. NIMS certifications can be an asset to people interested in building a new career or advancing in the modern machining industry. Certification is designed to meet entry-level requirements for on-the-job skills. Coursework is delivered with a combination of instructor-led theory and hands-on lab demonstration and practice. All certifications include proctored online exams and manufacturing. This course is a prerequisite for future NIMS Certifications. Course will focus on three basic areas of machining: Measurement, Materials and Safety, Job Planning, Benchwork and Layout, Drill Press Skills I.
