Job Description
The Freezer Supervisor is responsible for leading, guiding, directing and managing the freezer area of the plant consistent with policies and procedures of Gagne Foods. This includes the physical plant as well as the raw materials and finished goods. The position reports to the Production Manager.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain HACCP and SQF level 3 certified Fridge and Freezer standards
- Manages and directs the freezer crews and adhere to transportation standards, times and efficiencies
- Communicates with Shipping/ Production as daily needs and requirements of shipping operations may change
- Prioritizes shipments and manages freezer space for maximum efficiency
- Ensures all products are labeled, clean, free of damage and properly stored
- Provide resolution and execution to key shortage issues to management
- Manages material handling and placement of finished goods in the freezer
- Responsible for outgoing shipments and receiving of goods
- Works with Sales and SQF/QA Manager

Specific Job Requirements
- Operate under a FIFO’s system of inventory
- Responsible for pulling re-work out of freezer first thing in the morning for the following day’s production needs
- Pulls all orders for customers
- Palletizes all outgoing orders
- Maintains all frozen products for production
- Responsible for getting all mailers out
- Inventories freezer weekly, monthly and as required
- Ensures proper temperature is consistently maintained
- Manages freezer to ensure that there is no ice buildup. This includes product, floors, condensers, walls, door and door flaps.
- Able to work in an environment with frequent temperature changes and climate extremes
- required to notify management about actual or potential food safety issues
- Other duties as requested
