The communications manager is a full-time, billable position that supports the task order requirements for the Electronic Health Record Modernization Program for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This position manages the the day-to-day work of the site communications leads (SCLs); forms key client relationships with VA stakeholders; and provides strategic direction for the development of contract deliverables and work products to ensure the team’s work meets VA quality standards and is delivered on time.

The Communications Manager acts as a project manager in overseeing the day-to-day work of site communications leads (SCLs). They ensure the SCLs remain at 100% billable on their assigned active Task Order(s). They provide management, coaching, direction, and guidance to the SCLs. This role also is responsible for building and nurturing key client relationships with stakeholders to ensure deliverables are created, managed and submitted on time. In addition, this position requires critical thinking and strong decision-making skills. When SCLs are unavailable, this role is required to complete communications tasks. Project management knowledge and experience are key to managing the resources necessary to accomplish this work. During project engagements, delivery of program milestones come in many forms including written, phone conversations, virtual and in-person meetings and presentations. Having good interpersonal, speaking, and professional writing skills are necessary to read an audience, use emotional intelligence, and continue professional conversations even amid conflict while providing relevant and meaningful information. Aside from client relationship management, interpersonal and communication skills, this consulting role requires informatics and data analyses experience including identifying statistical significance, relating to a variety of workflows using a variety of company technology platforms.

Basic Qualifications

+ At least 8 years of total combined higher education and related work experience, including:

+ At least 4 years of consulting experience

+ At least 4 years total combined higher education and related work experience

+ At least 1 year of engagement/team leadership experience

+ Due to the client contract you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen

+ Receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for your position

Preferred Qualifications

+ Federal contracting knowledge

+ Production of written communications knowledge

Expectations

+ Arlington, VA area – Hybrid working model – preferred

+ Must be willing to travel up to 0-15% if needed

+ Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations

+ Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position

+ Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Hiring Range: from $76,200 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
