Job Description
The Greater Augusta Utility District is accepting applications for the position of Utility Worker to perform skilled manual work and the operation of trucks, loaders and other motorized equipment in the construction and repair of water/sewer lines and residential water/sewer services. Work involves the performance of manual labor tasks in connection with the construction, maintenance and repair activities of the work crews.
Position requires the employee to perform after hours on-call status on a rotating basis, including answering a pager and staying within a 20-minute response time.
Qualified applicants will possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have experience in the operation of light and heavy duty trucks and motorized equipment. A valid Class B CDL is preferred, however candidates without one will start as a Provisional Utility Worker at a lower pay rate and be given opportunity to operate equipment to help attain one within one year. Class I water distribution and Class I collection system licenses are desired.
This is a year-round, full-time position. Pay is currently $21.53/hour.
