Job Description:
The Office of the Attorney General has an opening for an Assistant Attorney General within the Health and Human Services Division in Augusta. This position represents the DHHS Office of MaineCare, including the Program Integrity division, in state court and in administrative proceedings. The types of cases include administrative hearings and Rule 80C appeals. The position also conducts legal review of MaineCare rules, and provides day to day legal advice on such matters as contracts, legislation and Department policy.

Minimum Qualifications:
This is not an entry level position. Applicants must be members of the Maine Bar in good standing, have an eye for legal detail, be interested in complex state and federal litigation, have strong legal advocacy and writing skills, and a demonstrated ability to function effectively as part of a team. One to three years of legal practice with demonstrated proficiency in civil litigation and/or health care law and litigation is preferred.
