Corporate Communications Director

The Corporate Communications Director – HR will lead the development of internal communications supporting Anthem’s human resources strategy, with a strong connection to Anthem’s purpose, mission, and values. The Director should establish an enterprise-wide communications plan that leverages multiple channels and platforms within the company.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

- Build an end-to-end human resources communication strategic plan focused on internal communications within human resources and across the enterprise and lead/implement it autonomously. – Partner with the Culture and Transformation Communications Directors to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging. – Develop both enterprise-wide communications and tailored, audience-specific messages that highlight the value and importance of human resources initiatives, as well as the tactical use and integration of those initiatives. – Partner effectively across the organization and with key stakeholders to integrate and align communications to broader enterprise content. – Ensure that human resources messages and changes are embedded in communications across all aspects of the organization – operationally, strategically, and through change frameworks. – Identify awareness gaps and proactively develop communications solutions to increase understanding. – Support development of intranet content and related metrics programs for associate engagement and experience campaigns and other relevant materials. Work location: Any Anthem state; may consider other locations for most qualified applicant.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: Requires a BA/BS, preferably in English, Communications, Media or Journalism; 8 years of experience in a large organization or agency setting; or any combination of education and experience that would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Qualifications: – Considered a subject matter expert in strategic communication. – Demonstrated ability to provide strategic counsel to business partners, envision and communicate creative solutions to business challenges, and successfully develop and implement communication strategies and tactics. – Fluency in change management strategies and best practices; proven success in implementing change across an organization. – Familiarity with principles and practices of HR, including recruitment, training and development, performance management preferred. – Knowledge of the managed care/healthcare insurance industry preferred.

Ideal candidate will possess the following: – Exceptional interpersonal, verbal communication skills, along with excellent writing and editing skills. – Sound business judgment and experience “connecting the dots” among seemingly unrelated topics. – Ability to synthesize difficult concepts into easily accessible language. – Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously with minimal direction. – Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
