Job Description

Accepting applicants for TEMPORARY INTAKE COORDINATOR. Applications are available at the Human Resources Department or online at www.lewistonmaine.gov.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Department:    Economic & Community Development

Division:          85% Lead Grant, 15% CDBG/HOME funded

Barg. Unit:      Non-Union

Status:             Full Time (37.5 hours/week)

Class Grade:   Grant Funded Position

Temporary:      42 month position

SUMMARY: Responsible for managing the application intake process for property owners, verifying and documenting eligibility in accordance with program guidelines, scheduling as necessary, and file management for the Lewiston Lead (LLP) and CDBG Programs (collectively HUD Programs).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school, AA or BA from college or university or related field experience, or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Valid State of Maine Class C Driver’s License and reliable means of transportation. Must possess, or have the ability to become, a Notary Public. Ideal candidates will have experience with loan documentation/underwriting and be familiar with HUD Part 5 income documentation.

WORK ACTIVITIES: Intake and process all applications and verify property eligibility. Initiate the environmental review process. Work with loan/grant applicants to document files to meet HUD regulatory requirements. Obtain and maintain all certifications, licenses, and insurances of contractors. Prepare files for underwriting and prepare all closing documentation. Assist with scheduling and preparation for the loan qualification committee. Assist with temporarily relocation of tenants when necessary. Track all activities using federal databases IDIS, HEROES, SPEARS and FFATA. Maintain confidential filing, organization, and management of all files by address and property owner for City Programs. Attend meetings and trainings as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned.
